I hope my batch script helps you with your journey to retain offline and client-less installation for Beyond Good and Evil from Uplay. Copy/cut and pase the file from step 1 into the Beyond Good and Evil directory for Uplay ![]() ![]() ![]() Download from this link either install_winxp.bat if on Windows XP or lower, or install_win10.bat if on Windows Vista or higherĢ. You will then copy the batch file to your Beyond Good and Evil Uplay directory and run it as an administrator (not needed on Windows XP, will be needed on Vista and above, via right click contextual menu), and wait for it to finish its operations.ġ. I'd appreciate the help on 32-bit Windows 7 at least) (If you're wondering, install_winxp.bat was installed on a Windows XPSP3 virtual machine, while install_win10.bat was installed on 64-bit installations of Windows 10 and 7, no idea about 32-bit installations of them, sadly. If you're on Windows XP (or lower?), you will go with install_winxp.bat, if you are on Windows Vista or higher, you will go with install_win10.bat. To start with, you will need to download the appropriate batch file from my OneDrive, depending on your Windows version. This 'patch' of mine adds to the registry the installation path for the game, as well as setting a compatibility layer of Windows XP SP3 for the settings application (due to not displaying the resolution and refresh rate buttons with Uplay's default Vista compatibility layer), and silently installs DirectX and installs (not silently) EAX4 Unified Redist in order for the game to work on any device without hooking it up with Uplay or the internet. However, why do all the registry editing when I have it completed? That's a little idea I had on my mind and a little project I did for fun. It can be done offline, just with a little registry editing. But to be honest, that's not our end goal, right? If you even move or rename the directory on the same system, the game will complain that it is not installed, and you might need Uplay to rescue you. But if you're a person like myself, who likes to archive their games into zip files that are reusable on any computer, you might run into a snag. So you have got that freebie last month from Uplay. ![]()
